LS-50 Linear Stage

About the LS-50

The LS-50 Linear Microscope Stage is an ultra-compact, high-precision positioning platform designed for applications requiring fine motion control over shorter travel ranges. Featuring closed-loop DC servo control on the X, Y, and Z axes, the LS-50 delivers smooth, accurate positioning with micron-scale repeatability. Its wide dynamic speed range and adjustable trapezoidal motion profiles support both rapid movement and delicate adjustments, while electronic torque limiting and Hall-effect sensors provide reliable built-in protection.

With a 50 mm travel range and encoder resolution down to 5.5 nm (200 nm repeatability with linear encoder), the LS-50 offers consistent, high-resolution performance in a lightweight, space-saving design. Lead screw accuracy of up to 0.25 µm/mm ensures precise positioning, while maximum speeds up to 1.75 mm/s (fine pitch) provide a balanced combination of control and efficiency for imaging and scanning applications.

A range of lead screw pitch options allows users to tailor the stage for either speed or precision, from ultra-coarse for high-speed motion to fine for enhanced nanoscale control. Combined with smooth dual-range joystick operation, programmable motion patterns, and compatibility with simple serial commands or Micro-Manager, the LS-50 integrates seamlessly into automated systems without requiring proprietary software.
