ASI's PZ-2200 Piezo-Z Stage, now with 200 microns of travel
ASI's newest version of our venerable PZ-2000 Piezo-Z Top Plate XY Stage now has twice the vertical Z-axis travel. This ultra-precise stage now incorporates new 200 micron piezo elements in the Z plate while maintaining nanometer accuracy and providing high resolution and highly repeatable XYZ motion, . Embedded piezo actuators for Z-axis translation allows any objective to be used, and eliminates twisting wires or needed spacers required when a piezo element is put onto a single objective. The XY axes still derive their precise control through the use of closed-loop DC servo motors employing high-resolution rotary encoders for positioning feedback, or with optional linear encoders for 20 nanometer scale resolution. Optional linear encoders improve repeatability to less than 300 nm (typical) compared to the standard rotary encoder's 800 nm (typical) repeatability rating.
