Frequently Asked Questions

When choosing a system, a number of questions need to be addressed that include:

How easily can the system be expanded to meet your future needs?

What will be the cost of these future expansions?

How easily is the system to setup and use? Will you be provided with clear, concise documentation and on-line support so that you and others in your lab understand how the system operates?

How reliable and accurate are each of the components of the system? Will any special software drivers be required if you want to add external devices such as focus or shutter controllers? Have these drivers been developed and tested?

If you incorporate components from various vendors what is the likelihood of incompatibility problems?

What components do you need to get started? How can you reduce your cost without compromising on quality?

ASI has the answers!

ASI systems have been designed with the user in mind and offer the following features:

  • Easy to setup and use. ASI works closely with other manufacturers to provide complete systems that are easy to setup and use.
  • ASI's components are extremely accurate. We have developed systems for low light video microscopy, time-lapse imaging, ratio imaging and a wide variety of other applications. Our focus controllers and drives offer a unique closed-loop feedback circuitry that insures compensation for microscope stage slippage and lost motion. Our illumination control devices prevent photobleaching and offer a number of other features.
  • 100% compatibility tried and proven. All of the components that ASI offers have been thoroughly tested as a complete system. We have worked closely with the software manufacturers listed here to develop complete systems utilizing our hardware and the other components listed here. On inquiry ASI will supply you with a list of researchers in your area that are employing ASI systems. Many of these systems have been in operation for years.
  • Quality and unbeatable prices. All of the components that ASI offers have been selected through a stringent evaluation process. This process includes comparison evaluations between various manufacturers in actual laboratory settings. Only the highest quality components are offered by ASI to insure that you receive the best system available.
  • ASI integrates various components with its own quality product line to offer systems and component packages that are below the actual cost of individual components if they were purchased separately. ASI also works closely with a number of software manufacturers to make sure that you receive the level of support that you require. In some instances, ASI will recommend that you buy a complete system directly from the software vendor because they are in a better position to provide support for the main component of the system, the software. In summary, ASI will do everything they can to insure that you are well taken care of.
