This unique chamber provides a means of keeping specimens at selectable, constant temperature under high humidity and atmosphere control such as CO2 / N2 mixtures.

Gas is slowly passed through the humidifier chamber where it is saturated with water, brought to the same temperature as the incubator chamber, and then introduced into the incubator chamber. The incubator chamber will accept 35mm and 60mm Petrie dishes, as well as standard microscope slides.

The incubator chamber is covered with a thin glass window which is electrically heated to prevent internal condensation.

Temperature Range Ambient to 50° C
Temperature Accuracy ± 0.2° C
Temperature Stability ± 0.1° C
Gas Purge Rate > 0.1 liters/minute

BIONOMIC SYSTEM©Heating, Cooling, and Atmosphere Control
20/20 Technology's Bionomic System

The heart of the BIONOMIC SYSTEM© is the BC-100 CONTROLLER that regulates the temperature of a variety of "cells" designed to accept conventional substrate holder such as 60 and 35mm petri dishes, microscope slides, Dvorak chambers. Open and closed perfusion chambers are available. The flexibility of the system design allows special designed cells to be supplied for unique applications.

All Bionomic Cells may be adapted with a gas purging system that protects the specimen from the outside atmosphere. Two gases such as N2 and CO2 may be accurately mixed in any ratio and gently purged over the substrate. The gas may be heated to reduce condensation when the Bionomic Cell and specimen are at sub-ambient temperature.

Bionomic Cells designed for low temperatures (less than 12° C) are water cooled to remove excess heat from the cooling elements. A miniature, closed heat exchanger, the HEC-400 eliminates the need of using tap water and drains, preventing any possibility of water spills or floods and is recommended for use with the water cooled cells.

OBJECTIVE HEATERS
20/20 Technology's Objective Heater

The OHxx Objective Heater can be used with many oil and water type microscope objectives to prevent thermal transfer between temperature-controlled specimens and the objective. The temperature of the objective is very tightly and accurately controlled with the B600 Temperature Controller over the range of 30° C to 50° C.

Objective diameters can vary over a rather wide range of values so the table below may be used as a guide to select the proper warming ring when ordering. Due to constantly changing manufacturing specifications from the microscope companies and the variety of objectives available, it is advisable to contact our sales staff for assistance in choosing the correct warming ring.
